Described as a Family-Friendly Festival for all Fandoms, the Des Moines Public Library is holding their second annual MyDMPL Con this Sunday, May 5th from 1-5pm.

PedalArt 2019
Sponsored by the Des Moines Bike Collective, Bike Month 2019 is kicking off with the 10th annual PedalArt Poster Show. This event brings together thirty local artists and their love of cycling. The artists will be selling prints of their original, limited-edition bike-themed posters. Proceeds benefit the artists and the Collective’s programming.

May Free Workouts with Anytime Fitness
Anytime Fitness is hosting free outdoor workouts every Saturday in May at Raccoon River Park. The workouts will be led by certified personal trainers and is open to everyone who wants to participate. The hour-long class will include a series of exercises, games, and fun movements designed for people of every fitness level.

Food Truck Throw Down
The Des Moines Social Club is hosting their 5th Annual Food Throw Down. The event will include 13 food trucks, live music, beverage tents and art activities.
Where: 8th-10th streets on Cherry Street + the Des Moines Social Club Courtyard

Pella Tulip Time
It is worth a drive to Pella this weekend to experience tulips as far as the eye can see. There will be entertainment, tours, shows, parades… and tulips. Thousands of tulips.

Farmers’ Market
Featuring nearly 300 vendors from 50 Iowa counties, the Downtown Farmers’ Market is a Saturday morning tradition that has something for everyone. Of course there’s fresh produce and baked goods, fresh flowers, eggs and cheese, but there’s also entertainment, vendors selling art, anything you could want for breakfast and lunch, and great people watching. Be sure to bring a reusable bag to stash all of your finds.
